About The 2026 Virginia Black History Month Gala
Welcome to The 2026 Virginia Black History Month Gala!
This year's gala is scheduled for Saturday, 28 February 2026, from 6 pm to 9 pm at the beautiful Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. Our keynote next year is Emmy-nominated actor Kadeem Hardison, made famous by the popular 1980s/1990s television show "A Different World." Kadeem played the African American "math wiz" attending a Historically Black College / University (HBCU) in Virginia. He has also starred in some of Hollywood's groundbreaking films and television shows, including but not limited to "The Sixth Man," "White Men Can't Jump," "Teenage Bounty Hunters," "Love Is," "Moonhaven," & many more.

Virginia Black History Month Association
The Virginia Black History Month Association (VaBHMA) is a non-profit 501 c 3 tax-exempt charitable organization that provides education and hosts family-centered social events to celebrate African-American history during February and throughout the year. For almost two decades, the VaBHMA has contributed to the cultural awareness of the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. For 25 years, we have welcomed over 23,000 guests to our events with more than 40 different organizations or corporations in attendance.
