About Above the Haze Boston University
Above the Haze represents a vibrant Christian community at Boston University dedicated to authentic spiritual transformation and meaningful relationships. Serving the Boston, MA student population, this Chi Alpha Campus Ministry affiliate believes that personal engagement is essential to both campus life and Christian faith. Rather than positioning faith as a distant concept, Above the Haze invites students into an active, dynamic relationship with Jesus that transforms lives, expresses love, and cultivates justice.
At the heart of Above the Haze is a commitment to community-centered discipleship. The organization recognizes that spiritual growth cannot happen in isolation—it requires people rooting for one another and supporting each other through intentional small groups and relational Bible studies. This approach mirrors Jesus's own model of developing disciples through close-knit, supportive relationships where members learn together and grow in understanding Scripture's practical application to their lives.
The organization emphasizes three foundational pillars: the Bible as God's transformative communication across millennia, the Holy Spirit as an active guide and healer in daily life, and community as God's design for mutual encouragement and strength. Above the Haze students practice what they call "the way of Jesus"—becoming like him and doing what he did through worship, prayer, witness, and service.
Serving Boston University students, Above the Haze creates space where questions are welcomed, experiences are shared, and personal encounters with God become central to the journey. Through mission trips, service opportunities, spiritual workshops, retreats, and social gatherings, the organization builds a priesthood of believers committed to reaching others while equipping themselves as servant leaders. Above the Haze demonstrates that faith flourishes when practiced together within a supportive, intentional community.
