Founded in 1938 as the American Society of Women Accountants and now known as the Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance, this professional organization has championed women's advancement in accounting and finance for over eight decades. The Huntsville, AL chapter was established on December 4, 1982, with 35 founding members and has since become a vital community for women professionals in the region. The organization's mission centers on enabling women in all accounting and related fields to reach their full potential while contributing meaningfully to the profession's development.
