Founded in April 1957, the Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance Tacoma Chapter has been a cornerstone of professional support and empowerment for women in accounting and finance throughout the Tacoma, Washington community for nearly seven decades. Our organization was born from a simple but powerful idea: women in accounting should have a dedicated space to exchange practical ideas, support one another, and grow together professionally.
The mission of AFWA is to enable women in all accounting and related fields to achieve their full personal, professional, and economic potential while contributing to the future development of the profession. We are guided by core values of empowerment, leadership, integrity, and passion—principles that have shaped our chapter's culture since our earliest days. Our current membership of over 20 dedicated professionals includes some of our original founding members, representing a remarkable continuity of commitment and expertise.
