About Alaskans Together for Equality
Alaskans Together for Equality (ATE) is Alaska’s statewide educational and advocacy organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Alaskans. ATE is a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization, that educates and advocates at the local, state and federal level for equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Alaskans.
Alaska’s gay and transgender population can be found across Alaska and our membership includes not only lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and families but also straight allies across the state.
ATE is part of what is known as Alaskans Together. One part being ATE that focuses on advocacy and the other part is a charitable sister organization, Alaskans Together Foundation, Inc., that focuses on education which is organized as a 501(c)3 education nonprofit serving the needs of Alaska’s diverse LGBTQ+ community.
The mission of Alaskans Together for Equality is to advance civil equality for all Alaskans through grassroots organizing and advocacy, with a primary focus on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Alaskans.
