All Rainbow and Allied Youth emerged from the hearts of Port Charlotte, FL residents who recognized a critical need in their community. In 2017, dedicated community members came together with a vision to transform the experience of LGBTQ+ youth and allies, creating a welcoming refuge from the discrimination and exclusion many faced. ARAY's mission reflects a commitment to justice and equity—moving beyond mere inclusion to actively dismantle barriers and create systemic change for young people in Charlotte County. What sets ARAY apart is its grassroots foundation; the organization was built by people who understand the local landscape and are deeply invested in their neighbors' wellbeing. Since its inception, ARAY has grown significantly, expanding its reach through community partnerships and creating spaces where youth feel genuinely seen and valued. The organization's vision extends beyond support services to encompass advocacy and systemic change, recognizing that true progress requires addressing the broader cultural and institutional factors affecting LGBTQ+ youth.
