About Alliance Francaise de Puerto Rico
The Alliance Française de Puerto Rico is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit institution whose mission is to spread the French language, promote French culture and francophone cultures , and foster cultural diversity.
Present in Puerto Rico since 1937 , the Alliance Française is dedicated to strengthening Franco-Puerto Rican cultural dialogue and developing bonds of friendship between both countries. We receive more than 1,500 students annually , of all ages, following French courses of all levels . We are also present in schools and universities .
Furthermore, in Puerto Rico, the Alliance Française has become a true European cultural and linguistic center : through a cooperation with the Società Dante Alighieri di Miami , the Alliance Française offers Italian classes . German courses are also offered .
We think that learning a language goes with learning a culture. With this objective, the Alliance Française is also a cultural center offering cultural activities open to the general public throughout the year and receiving French artists and intellectuals in Puerto Rico, presenting shows, conferences and artistic encounters.
The Alliance Française also annually organizes the Puerto Rico European Film Festival and the celebration of France's National Holiday during the France de Fiesta event.
