About Alpha Nu Chapter of Delta Gamma
The Alpha Nu Chapter of Delta Gamma at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA is a student-led sisterhood rooted in nearly 150 years of tradition and purposeful community engagement. Founded in 1873 by three young women—Anna Boyd, Mary Comfort, and Eva Webb—who sought to create a club of "mutual helpfulness," Delta Gamma has evolved into an international organization with a profound commitment to developing women of character and integrity.
At its core, Delta Gamma's mission centers on fostering high ideals of friendship among women, promoting educational and cultural interests, and cultivating a genuine sense of social responsibility. The Alpha Nu Chapter brings these values to life within the USC community, creating a welcoming environment where members develop meaningful connections based on shared commitment to personal growth and service. The organization does not discriminate in membership selection and is open to all individuals who identify as women and share the fraternity's values.
Members of Alpha Nu are united by Delta Gamma's founding principle of hope, symbolized by the original fraternity pin bearing the letter "H." This spirit of optimism and possibility continues to guide chapter activities and member development. The sisterhood emphasizes the importance of good character, academic excellence, and genuine desire to contribute meaningfully to the college and broader Los Angeles community.
Through its presence at USC, Alpha Nu Chapter honors Delta Gamma's legacy of empowering women to make the world better. The chapter serves as a bridge connecting students to a larger network of collegiate and alumnae sisters, providing mentorship, support, and opportunities for lifelong friendship and community involvement.
