Founded on December 27, 1985, the American Polish Cultural Society in Troy, MI emerged from humble beginnings with just 15 members and has blossomed into a vibrant cultural hub serving the Polish-American community across Michigan. The organization's core mission centers on encouraging Poles and Americans of Polish descent to celebrate and pursue their heritage, culture, and language while raising awareness of the profound contributions Polish Americans have made to the United States and the world. What began as a small grassroots organization grew to over 900 members by 1989, prompting the search for a suitable meeting place that resulted in acquiring the historic 12-acre property that now serves as the American Polish Cultural Center. The center has become a gathering place for community members to celebrate their shared heritage through cultural events, educational programs, charitable initiatives, and social activities. The organization pursues charitable, literary, educational, and fraternal purposes that strengthen cultural bonds within the Polish-American community. Today, the American Polish Cultural Center in Troy stands as a testament to the dedication of its members and leadership, committed to ensuring that future generations continue to carry forward the ideals of Polish heritage and culture.
