Arab America Foundation

Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Washington, DC, the Arab America Foundation carries forward a century-old vision inspired by the legacy of Kahlil Gibran, the renowned Arab American writer, poet, and philosopher who established Al Rabitah (The Connection) to preserve Arab heritage through creative expression. Today's Arab America Foundation continues this transformative mission by promoting Arab heritage, educating Americans about Arab identity and culture, and empowering Arab Americans to build connections with one another and with diverse communities nationwide. Serving nearly four million Americans with Arab roots—a population spread across every state but concentrated in eleven major states including Washington DC—the Foundation addresses a critical need for accurate representation and cohesive identity. Arab Americans represent remarkable ethnic, religious, and political diversity, yet often lack unified platforms for connection and celebration. The Arab America Foundation fills this essential role as a non-sectarian national organization that brings together professionals, entrepreneurs, students, artists, and community leaders. By building systematic and comprehensive campaigns that celebrate Arab heritage while dispelling negative stereotypes and combating bigotry, the Foundation creates safe spaces for Arab Americans to connect, share experiences, and make meaningful professional and personal relationships. Through its grassroots activist network, community partnerships, and member initiatives, the Arab America Foundation in Washington, DC, stands as a vital bridge connecting Arab Americans to their heritage, to each other, and to the broader American community.
