About Arab-American Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS) of WNY
Founded in 2005, the Arab-American Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS) of WNY emerged from a vision to promote understanding and strengthen the bonds of faith and friendship between Arab Americans and people of other nationalities and cultures throughout Western New York. Operating from its base in Lackawanna, NY, ACCESS of WNY has become a vital community institution dedicated to serving families and individuals without regard to faith or ethnicity.
The organization's core philosophy centers on breaking down cultural barriers and fostering genuine connections across diverse populations. Rather than limiting its focus to a single community, ACCESS of WNY intentionally serves as a bridge, welcoming people from all backgrounds and belief systems. This inclusive approach reflects the organization's belief that community strength grows when people understand and respect one another's perspectives and experiences.
As a non-sectarian organization, ACCESS of WNY demonstrates that community development and social services are most effective when they transcend traditional boundaries. The people of Lackawanna and the surrounding region benefit from an organization that recognizes the shared challenges and common aspirations that unite communities. ACCESS of WNY's commitment to both the Arab American community and the broader population exemplifies how focused organizations can serve as catalysts for positive social change. By emphasizing economic opportunity alongside social support, the organization addresses root causes of community challenges while celebrating the cultural richness and diversity that defines Western New York.
