About Asociatia Romano-Canadiana din Ottawa-Gatineau
The Romanian-Canadian Association of Ottawa-Gatineau is a secular, non-profit organization whose primary goal is to perpetuate Romanian traditions in the Canadian capital region. Among other things, ARCOG organizes cultural and sports events, picnics and the traditional Romanian Festival. Since 2007, ARCOG represents the Romanian community at the Tulip Festival, organized every spring by the National Capital Commission. The participation of the association consists in organizing and presenting a show of traditional Romanian music and dances made by the participation of local talents.
The Romanian-Canadian Association of Ottawa-Gatineau exists and operates due to the voluntary contribution of its members. The events organized by ARCOG are financed by the membership fee, donations from private individuals, and the symbolic surplus realized through commercial activities at picnics.
