Association of Greek American Professional Women
About Association of Greek American Professional Women
Serving the Astoria, NY community and Greek American women nationwide, the Association of Greek American Professional Women (A.G.A.P.W.) represents a powerful movement toward empowerment and professional excellence. Established in 2010 as a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational organization, A.G.A.P.W. was founded on the vision of creating meaningful connections and opportunities for Greek American women to develop leadership capabilities and advance their careers. The organization recognizes that Greek American women face unique challenges in balancing professional aspirations with cultural values, and it exists to bridge that gap through comprehensive support and community building. A.G.A.P.W. meets the fundamental needs of communication, mentorship, and professional support among women who are committed to improving not only their own lives but also the quality of life for their families and communities. By facilitating personal development through networking events, cultural celebrations, and educational opportunities, the organization strengthens bonds within the Greek American community while promoting social empowerment and workforce leadership. Run entirely on a pro bono basis by dedicated professionals, A.G.A.P.W. demonstrates an unwavering commitment to accessibility and inclusion. The organization's collaborative approach—partnering with entities both within and outside the Greek American community—reflects its belief that collective action creates transformative change. Whether through scholarship initiatives, internship placements, or professional development forums, A.G.A.P.W. invests in the future of Greek American women and celebrates their contributions to society.
