Association of Latino Professionals For America
About Association of Latino Professionals For America
Since its founding in 1972 as the first national Latino professional association in the United States, ALPFA has grown into a transformative movement serving the Austin, Texas community and professionals nationwide. What began as the American Association of Hispanic Certified Public Accountants has evolved into the Association of Latino Professionals For America, expanding its mission to empower Latino men and women as leaders of character across every sector of the economy. With a vibrant community of over 100,000 members and growing influence across 40 professional chapters and 200 student chapters, ALPFA has demonstrated consistent value and steady growth throughout its 50-year legacy. The organization's core values—Community, Leadership, Empowerment, Authenticity, and Representation—guide its work to break barriers and increase Latino presence in leadership positions. ALPFA members describe the organization as feeling like home, a place where first-generation professionals and students find genuine support, mentorship, and career advancement. The organization raised 1.7 million dollars for scholarships in 2023, reflecting its deep commitment to investing in the next generation of leaders. By fostering connections and collaboration, ALPFA creates an ALPFAmilia—a family united by shared purpose—where members not only advance their own careers but actively give back to their communities. In Austin and beyond, ALPFA continues building upon its proud legacy of inspiring and empowering future leaders who drive positive change.
