About Black Health Alliance
Since its establishment, Black Health Alliance has grown into a vital force for change in Toronto, ON, working to transform health outcomes for Black communities across Canada. Founded on the principle that Black communities must be centered in defining the challenges affecting their health and well-being, the organization operates as a community-led registered charity guided by core values of Africentricity, social justice, partnership, and catalytic leadership. Black Health Alliance recognizes the diversity within Black communities as a strength and understands that shared history, ingenuity, and resourcefulness unite people across different backgrounds and experiences. The organization is committed to dismantling systemic and structural barriers through an anti-racist, anti-oppressive framework that honors intersectional identities and centers marginalized voices, including Black two-spirit, queer, trans, gender-expansive, non-binary, Muslim, and Afro-Indigenous communities. Through strong partnerships founded on common objectives, reciprocity, and accountability, Black Health Alliance mobilizes resources and builds capacity within communities. The organization's approach starts with deep listening, ensuring solutions are co-created with those most affected by health inequities. With a mission to reduce racial disparities in health outcomes and promote well-being across the broad determinants of health, Black Health Alliance continues to build innovative solutions and foster Black leadership while driving meaningful, community-centered change.
