About 100 Black Men of Austin, Inc.
Founded as part of the national 100 Black Men of America network, 100 Black Men of Austin, Inc. has been serving the Austin, Texas community since 1995 as a catalyst for empowerment and social change. The organization's mission centers on empowering youth and families to develop strong-minded, proactive, and responsible community members who become lifelong learners. The organization's vision embraces the African principles of Ubuntu ("I am because we are") and Sankofa, honoring cultural heritage while empowering the next generation intellectually, socially, emotionally, and politically. Through full-circle education and community cultivation, 100 Black Men of Austin prepares young people to thrive and lead with excellence. The organization's core values—mentorship, education, economic empowerment, health and wellness, and leadership development—guide every initiative and partnership. By serving as a beacon of leadership in Austin, the organization utilizes its diverse talents and resources to create environments where children are motivated to achieve and adults become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of their communities. Whether through mentoring, volunteering, or supporting programs, community members can join in the mission to build a stronger, more vibrant Austin.
