About Bold Futures
For over two decades, Bold Futures has been building reproductive justice in Albuquerque and throughout New Mexico by and for women and people of color. Formerly known as Young Women United, the organization underwent a transformative name change to better reflect its evolved mission, expanded reach, and organizational power. This rebrand represents a commitment to being thoughtfully inclusive of all communities the organization works alongside while maintaining its innovative theory of change.
At its core, Bold Futures is driven by a vision of communities where women, people, and families can live and thrive with respect and dignity. The organization recognizes that real change happens when those most impacted by an issue lead the work, centering their expertise and lived experiences in every initiative. Based in Albuquerque with offices in Las Cruces, Bold Futures intentionally shifts power dynamics within New Mexico's policy landscape by decentralizing leadership and amplifying voices from rural and borderland communities.
The organization's approach goes beyond traditional advocacy to embrace holistic community building. Bold Futures understands that lasting social change requires addressing the intersection of people's identities and circumstances. Through twenty-five years of dedicated work, the organization has earned trust within communities by listening, learning, and standing alongside those seeking to reclaim agency over their bodies, lives, and futures.
