BU Filipino Student Association

Rooted in Boston, MA, the Boston University Filipino Student Association represents a 30-year legacy of cultural pride and community connection. Founded in 1992, BUFSA has evolved into a welcoming organization that serves as a home for students seeking to explore, celebrate, and share their Filipino heritage within the Boston University community and throughout the greater New England region. The organization's foundation rests on the fundamental values of family and unity, creating an inclusive space where all interested students can participate in the celebration of Filipino culture.

At its core, BUFSA is driven by a mission to engage members in the richness and profundity of Filipino culture and heritage while fostering appreciation for both Filipino and Filipino-American identities. The organization recognizes that cultural preservation and awareness require active community involvement and education. Through their diverse programming—from cultural shows and workshops to social gatherings and guest lectures—BUFSA creates meaningful opportunities for students to connect with their roots and share their traditions with peers.

What distinguishes BUFSA is its commitment to enriching student life both on and off campus while serving as an ambassador for Filipino culture to the broader Boston community. The organization's multi-faceted approach includes collaborations with neighboring schools and participation in regional activities, demonstrating a dedication to cultural exchange that extends far beyond the university walls. For over three decades, BUFSA has maintained its promise to uphold family values, foster unity among its members, and ensure that Filipino cultural traditions remain vibrant and celebrated within the Boston area.
