Canadian Federation of University Women Mississauga
About Canadian Federation of University Women Mississauga
Since its founding in 1919, the Canadian Federation of University Women has grown into a respected national organization representing the voices and values of educated women across Canada. The Mississauga chapter carries forward this legacy of women's equality advocacy while fostering genuine friendships and intellectual community among its members. Based in Mississauga, ON, the club creates a welcoming environment where approximately 110 women from diverse educational backgrounds gather to pursue shared interests and make tangible differences in their communities. Beyond monthly meetings and social gatherings, CFUW Mississauga members engage in purposeful activism addressing women's and children's welfare both locally and globally. From supporting local domestic violence shelters to funding educational infrastructure for schoolgirls in Ethiopia and Afghanistan, the organization transforms member passion into concrete humanitarian outcomes. The club offers numerous interest groups including art tours, book clubs, bridge and euchre groups, gourmet dining circles, and walking groups—providing pathways for women to connect over shared passions while building lasting relationships. What distinguishes CFUW Mississauga is its commitment to combining social engagement with substantive advocacy work. Members participate in issues-focused initiatives and maintain awareness of global women's rights challenges while enjoying the camaraderie of an intellectually vibrant peer community. The organization welcomes new members who share its vision of advancing women's equality, supporting education, and building stronger communities. Whether seeking intellectual fellowship, meaningful volunteer opportunities, or a community of like-minded women, CFUW Mississauga offers a multifaceted platform for engagement and impact.
