For over four decades, Casa Italiana Sociocultural Center, Inc. has been the heart and soul of the Italian and Italian American community in Washington, DC. Founded in 1981 by Scalabrinian Fr. Caesar Donanzan with a vision to create a gathering place for Italian Americans in the nation's capital, the organization has grown into a multifaceted cultural institution rooted in deep community values. The center's mission centers on preserving Italian and Italian American heritage for future generations while creating meaningful spaces for community members to celebrate their shared culture and traditions. What began as a language school has evolved into a comprehensive sociocultural hub that brings together people of all backgrounds to experience authentic Italian culture through social events, educational opportunities, and artistic celebrations.
