Catholic Lawyers Guild of the Archdiocese of Boston

Based in Winthrop, Massachusetts, the Catholic Lawyers Guild of the Archdiocese of Boston represents a distinctive faith-centered community of legal professionals bound together by shared values and commitment to justice. As a non-profit organization, the Guild brings together attorneys, judges, paralegals, legal assistants, and law students from across the greater Boston region who seek to live out their Catholic faith within their professional lives. The organization's core mission centers on creating meaningful opportunities for spiritual growth, professional development, and community service—recognizing that faith and legal practice can be deeply integrated. What sets the Guild apart is its emphasis on the relationship between spirituality and daily professional work. Through regular events and gatherings, members explore how their faith informs their approach to justice, client representation, and public service. The Guild's signature Red Mass, held annually at historic venues including the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and the Seaport Shrine of Our Lady of Good Voyage, has become a ceremonial tradition that unites the legal community in seeking divine guidance for all servants of the law. The organization actively supports pro bono legal work and charitable initiatives, demonstrating its commitment to serving those in need throughout the Winthrop and Boston communities. By honoring members through awards like the Honorable Joseph R. Nolan Award, the Guild celebrates individuals who exemplify the integration of faith, professional excellence, family devotion, and compassion. The Guild extends an open invitation to all Catholic legal professionals and those interested in the intersection of faith and law to join this vibrant community dedicated to advancing justice with integrity.
