Chinese American Bar Association of Greater Chicago
About Chinese American Bar Association of Greater Chicago
Founded in 1986 as the first local bar association for attorneys of Asian descent in the Chicagoland area, the Chinese American Bar Association of Greater Chicago (CABA) has grown into a vibrant community hub serving Chicago, IL's legal and business professionals. CABA's mission extends far beyond traditional professional networking—the organization is deeply committed to fostering meaningful connections among members while strengthening ties with the broader Chinese and Pan-Asian community. Through a diverse calendar of events, CABA brings attorneys together for both professional growth and cultural celebration, including sponsorship of a dragon boat team for the annual Dragon Boat Race for Literacy, Lunar New Year festivities, Holiday Dinners, and regular monthly happy hours often held jointly with other bar associations and community organizations. What distinguishes CABA is its unwavering commitment to public service and community empowerment. The organization recognizes its responsibility to serve those in need, having co-founded the Chinatown Pro Bono Legal Clinic with the Chinese American Service League to provide free legal assistance to vulnerable populations. CABA's partnerships with organizations like the Chinese Mutual Aid Association and Pui Tak Center demonstrate the organization's dedication to supporting small business development and addressing immigration-related legal challenges facing the community. By combining professional advancement opportunities with meaningful community service, CABA continues to build a supportive network where attorneys of Asian descent can thrive professionally while making tangible differences in the lives of Chicago residents.
