About Columbus Chinese Association
Since evolving from its origins as Columbus Chinese Association-Taiwan in the 1990s, CCA has become a vital bridge connecting Columbus, IN's Chinese community and culture enthusiasts. Founded on the principle of preserving and sharing Chinese heritage, the organization transformed in 2000 when community members from Taiwan and China established the Columbus Chinese Language School, gaining widespread local support. This transformation led to the organization's name change to Columbus Chinese Association, reflecting its expanded mission to serve all overseas Chinese and anyone passionate about Chinese culture. CCA's mission centers on offering and promoting Chinese language and culture to the Columbus, Indiana area through meaningful community engagement. The organization brings people together through authentic cultural experiences, from the festive Chinese New Year Gala to seasonal picnics and recreational sports activities. As an all-volunteer, membership-free organization, CCA demonstrates its commitment to accessibility and community inclusion. The association plays an important ambassadorial role in Columbus's multicultural landscape, actively participating in the Columbus Ethnic Expo and fostering cross-cultural understanding. With deep roots in the local community and a track record of sustained engagement since the 1990s, CCA represents a dedicated effort to preserve Chinese traditions while building meaningful connections among residents of Columbus.
