The Upper Marlboro/Waldorf (MD) Alumni Chapter
Chartered on August 24, 1984, the Upper Marlboro/Waldorf (UM/W) Alumni Chapter has a proud history of service to southern Prince George's and Charles counties. For more than four decades, our brothers have demonstrated the fundamental principles of Kappa Alpha Psi through achievement, leadership, mentorship, civic engagement, and meaningful community service. Our mission is to serve the Upper Marlboro and Waldorf communities through youth mentoring, Men's Health & Wellness, and community service. We believe healthy communities begin with healthy and engaged men, prepared young people, and citizens willing to invest their time, talent, and resources in the greater good. Men's Health & Wellness is a key priority for the 26th Administration. We recognize that a well-rounded, productive man must care for his physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Through education, awareness, fellowship, and community partnerships, we will encourage men and boys to take ownership of their health and make informed decisions that strengthen themselves, their families, and their communities. Our commitment to youth remains equally strong. Through Guide Right, Kappa League, scholarship initiatives, school partnerships, and mentorship opportunities, we seek to educate, inspire, and prepare young people for success. Through our partnership with the Kappa Youth Development Foundation and other community organizations, we will continue investing in the next generation through scholarships, leadership development, and service. Community service is at the heart of who we are. Our Brothers and the UM/W Silhouettes continue to support efforts addressing food insecurity, domestic violence, education, civic engagement, community wellness, environmental stewardship, and the needs of families throughout our service area. We believe service is not simply something we do—it is a responsibility we embrace. We also recognize the importance of civic engagement and building strong relationships with community leaders, schools, nonprofit organizations, law enforcement, government agencies, and our Divine Nine partners. By working together, we can promote greater understanding, empower residents, and help create communities where everyone has an opportunity to thrive. Whether you are a Brother of Kappa Alpha Psi looking for a Kappa home, a community organization seeking a service partner, a young person looking for mentorship, or a resident interested in getting involved, we invite you to connect with us. There is a place for you in the work of the Upper Marlboro/Waldorf Alumni Chapter.
