About Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas

Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas has a jurisdiction over Dallas, North Texas Counties.

The Consulate General of Mexico in the Dallas-Fort Worth area was inaugurated on September 11, 1918 in Fort Worth. By 1939, with its change to its current headquarters in the city of Dallas, the Consulate served a community of just 4,000 people.

Currently, it serves a population of first or second generation Mexicans of more than one million residents of one of the 121 counties in North Texas (40.1% of the state's territory).

The 271,898 square kilometers that comprise the consular district in Texas represent an area slightly less than that of the whole of the Mexican states of Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas and Durango, the main places of origin of the Mexicans who live in the north of Texas.

The enormous territory covered by this Consulate and the high number of Mexicans who live in it mean that this consular representation is in third place in the Mexican consular network of 47 consulates in terms of the number of documents issued, only below the Consulates in Los Angeles and Chicago.

In terms of protection services, so far this year this Consulate General is in first place in the consular network in terms of services provided.
