About Culinary Adventure: Celebrate the Flavors of al-Andalus
The cuisine of Islamic Spain was a blend of Muslim, Jewish, and Christian traditions, and drew on India, Persia, the Spaice Islands, and Africa for ingredients. A feast, designed by the renowned food historian Nawal Nasrallah, is accompanied by dance and music.

We are Storytellers! Travel across the world and through time with Archaeology Now as we collaborate with communities to tell the stories of humanity. Archaeology Now is the Houston-based affiliate of a nationwide organization—the Archaeological Institute of America. We were founded in 1967 by Dominique De Menil, Philip Oliver Smith, and Walter Widrig. Join us for adult events, family experiences, culinary adventures, cemetery preservation activities, original digital content, and an after-school enrichment program. Our Mission Archaeology Now collaborates with our diverse local and global community to exchange knowledge of the many stories of humanity, spanning the globe and stretching across the vast expanse of time, through the lens of the arts and archaeology.
