El Pueblo represents a grassroots movement of passionate community members serving Raleigh, NC and Wake County with deep roots in diverse Latin American backgrounds. Founded on the principle of being for the community, by the community, El Pueblo brings together folks who are committed to building collective power and transforming their neighborhoods from within. The organization's vision centers on creating a just society that values equity, dignity, and respect for all people, with a mission to ensure that the Latin American community and other marginalized communities control their own stories and destinies. What sets El Pueblo apart is its commitment to learning and growing alongside neighbors, recognizing and supporting the rights, strengths, and experiences of the Latinx community while fostering cultural pride and appreciation. Through leadership development, organizing, and direct action, El Pueblo empowers both youth and adults to become agents of change in their own communities. The organization values advocacy that brings forward the voices of North Carolina Latinos, cultural celebration that promotes understanding and connection, and social justice work that addresses systemic inequities in education, health services, economic opportunity, and personal safety. Operating with transparency and community collaboration, El Pueblo partners across divisions to unify resources with diverse allies and works intentionally to make all programming accessible to those it serves in the Raleigh area.
