About Embassy of Ukraine in the United States of America
The Ukrainian Embassy in Washington, D.C. is the diplomatic mission of Ukraine to the United States. The embassy is located at 3350 M Street NW, in the heart of Georgetown's commercial district.
The United States of America recognized Ukraine as an independent state on December 26, 1991.
Diplomatic relations were established on January 3, 1992.
In 1992 18 Embassies of Ukraine were opened around the world, including the United States of America.
On December 31, 1992 The Government of Ukraine along with the Сoordination Committee to aid Ukraine, the Ukrainian Credit Union "Self-Reliance," the Ukrainian Sister Association and other organizations, as well as many representatives of the Ukrainian-American Community, purchased a house in Washington for the Embassy of Ukraine.
