Ernest is designated by the State Bar of California as a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law. To be a certified specialist, an attorney must have extensive experience in estate planning law, and must demonstrate his knowledge by passing a highly-competitive examination. In addition to passing the exam, the attorney must be recommended for certification by other attorneys or judges who are familiar with the attorney's work, and must undergo extensive and continuing education.
Ernest has been actively working to inform the community about planning techniques to reduce estate taxes and probate fees. He has published several articles on estate planning for print in newspapers and periodicals. In addition, he has spoken about estate planning on several radio shows and given estate planning seminars to individuals and financial professionals in Northern and Southern California. His seminars have been co-sponsored by Prudential, AXA Advisors, New York Life, Merrill Lynch, the San Francisco Korean Chamber of Commerce, the Santa Clara Korean Chamber of Commerce, etc.
He has also co-authored the chapter on the “Nature and Classification of Trusts” for West Group Legal Publishers, which was published in October 1999 as reference material for use by other estate planning attorneys. Ernest is a graduate of the Cornell University Law School, majoring in Business Law and Regulation. He attended the University of California at Berkeley and received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
