Founded in 1998 by Dr. Dely Alcantara and David Galbiso, the Filipino American National Historical Society Rio Grande Chapter represents a grassroots commitment to making Filipino American stories visible in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This 501(c)(3) non-profit organization embodies a mission to promote understanding, education, enlightenment, and appreciation of Filipino American history and culture through the identification, gathering, preservation, and dissemination of community narratives. For over two decades, FANHS RG has built deep relationships within the Albuquerque Filipino American community, serving as a bridge between generations and connecting local residents to the broader national FANHS network.
