About Global Albanians Foundation
The Global Albanians Foundation emerged from Boston, MA as a collaborative vision shared by Germin, the Massachusetts Albanian American Society (MAASBESA), and the Albanian American Women's Organization—Motrat Qiriazi (AAWO). Since receiving its 501(c)(3) status in June 2018, the Foundation has been dedicated to strengthening connections within the Albanian diaspora and supporting sustainable development in Albanian communities worldwide. What sets this organization apart is its deep roots in community partnerships and its commitment to fostering meaningful relationships between supporters and nonprofit organizations across the globe.
Global Albanians Foundation believes fundamentally that the nonprofit sector plays a vital role in advancing civic, economic, and social development throughout the Western Balkans and diaspora regions. The organization recognizes the unique power of diaspora philanthropy to create positive change in homeland countries while strengthening cultural ties across communities. By providing a platform for crowdfunding and online donations, the Foundation empowers ordinary people to support causes they care about and helps local nonprofits gain access to resources previously unavailable to them. The Foundation's vision reflects a deep commitment to community-driven change, where hundreds of thousands of individuals can collectively support thousands of Albanian organizations addressing critical social, economic, and cultural needs throughout Albania, Kosova, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Presheva, and the global Albanian diaspora.
