Greater Oklahoma City Chapter Coalition of Labor Union Women
About Greater Oklahoma City Chapter Coalition of Labor Union Women
Since its founding in 1974, the Coalition of Labor Union Women has served as the voice for women within America's labor movement, and the Greater Oklahoma City Chapter continues this vital mission in Oklahoma City, OK. CLUW was established with four core objectives that remain the foundation of its work today: empowering women for greater participation at all levels in the labor movement, organizing the unorganized, promoting affirmative action and social and economic justice in the workplace, and increasing women's participation in political and legislative processes. The Oklahoma City chapter unifies women from diverse union backgrounds to identify their common concerns and develop action programs that create meaningful change. As a nonpartisan organization within the union movement, CLUW brings together members from more than 70 international and national unions, creating a strong network of 36 chapters nationwide. The Greater Oklahoma City Chapter provides essential support to local union women by keeping members informed on issues affecting working families, offering educational resources, and fostering a supportive community. Members advocate collectively for equal pay, safe workplaces, affordable health care, and protection from discrimination and harassment. By joining the Oklahoma City chapter, union women gain access to a powerful collective voice, practical resources, and a community of dedicated advocates working toward workplace equity and social justice. The organization's commitment to unity and action has made it an indispensable resource for women navigating the labor movement.
