About Greek American Professional Women's Society
For over 25 years, the Greek American Professional Women's Society has been a cornerstone of community for Greek-American professional women throughout the Menlo Park and San Francisco Bay Area region. Founded in 1999, GAPWS brings together accomplished women from diverse professional fields who share a commitment to mutual support, cultural pride, and giving back to their communities. At its heart, the organization is driven by a mission to promote and foster public awareness of Greece's national character and culture, Hellenism, and the contributions of ethnically Greek and Greek-speaking peoples. The society creates meaningful connections through regular gatherings where members exchange ideas, build lasting friendships, and celebrate their shared heritage. A defining aspect of GAPWS is its dedication to youth empowerment through charitable scholarships, helping young women of Greek heritage achieve their educational aspirations and become successful community members. The organization recognizes that professional women can be powerful agents of cultural preservation and community support. By combining social engagement, cultural celebration, and philanthropic work, GAPWS has established itself as a trusted community institution. Members appreciate the personal relationships formed within the group, the enriching cultural experiences offered, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the next generation's success. As a registered California public benefit corporation, GAPWS operates with transparency and purpose, ensuring resources directly support its mission of cultural promotion and educational advancement.
