Hellenic Healthcare Professionals of Michigan
About Hellenic Healthcare Professionals of Michigan
Founded in March 2020 by Dr. Christina Lucas Vougiouklakis, Hellenic Healthcare Professionals of Michigan emerged from a vision to connect isolated Hellenic healthcare professionals across Southeast Michigan into a unified, supportive community. Based in Detroit, MI, HHPM operates as an inclusive Philhellene network that celebrates the shared heritage and values of its members while advancing healthcare excellence. The organization's mission centers on empowering healthcare professionals through fellowship, mentorship, and relationship-building activities that honor both professional achievement and cultural identity. Since its inception, HHPM has grown from a startup concept into an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit with significant community presence, including participation in Detroit's Greektown Parade, sponsorship of educational symposiums, and collaboration with the Federation of Hellenic Medical Society of North America. The organization creates meaningful opportunities for connection through its quarterly Κεφι Hours gatherings, wellness initiatives, and philanthropic endeavors that benefit the broader Hellenic community. HHPM's platforms—Leadership, Fellowship, Mentorship, Scholarship, Friendship, and Relationship—reflect a holistic approach to professional development that extends beyond clinical practice to encompass personal growth and cultural stewardship. By fostering an environment where Hellenic and Philhellenic healthcare providers can unite, learn from one another, and serve together, HHPM leaves a lasting legacy of heritage, culture, and compassionate healthcare for future generations in the Detroit area.
