Founded in 1936 by seven Greek women in the aftermath of World War II, the Hellenic Women's Club carries a profound legacy of compassion rooted in assisting Greek war orphans. Today, this respected Brookline, Massachusetts-based organization, known as Epsilon Omicron Kappa (EOK), remains devoted to its founding mission of philanthropy while celebrating Hellenic ideals and fostering deep community bonds among its members.
The organization embodies a unique character defined by a close-knit group of exceptionally dedicated women who volunteer their talents, energies, and spirit to charitable work. For over eight decades, EOK has been characterized by selflessness and achievement, creating meaningful impact across the greater Boston region and beyond. The Club's commitment extends beyond fundraising to establishing lasting legacies, including The Demetra Fund honoring a beloved member's memory and a Scholarship Fund launched during the organization's 75th Anniversary in 2011.
As a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization with limited membership of 45, EOK operates with intentionality and personal connection that distinguishes it from larger institutions. Members gather monthly to strengthen fellowship, plan initiatives, and support causes ranging from breast cancer research to educational advancement for young women of Greek heritage.
