About Hispanic League
Established in 1992, the Hispanic League has grown into a cornerstone organization serving Winston-Salem, NC's Hispanic and Latino communities. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, the organization was founded to foster diversity and raise awareness by building bridges between Hispanic and non-Hispanic communities. Today, it remains committed to its core mission: improving the quality of life for Hispanic and Latino residents through promoting community inclusion, education, health, and multicultural understanding.
What sets the Hispanic League apart is its deep community integration and comprehensive approach to service. The organization partners with more than eighty local organizations to deliver programming and assistance, demonstrating its role as a trusted community anchor. Since 2000, the Scholarship Program has invested over 1.5 million dollars in Hispanic student success, with 51 scholarships awarded in 2024 alone. The Middle School Achievers Program directly engages approximately 600 students annually, while the Parent Enrichment Program empowers families through weekly Spanish-language training sessions offered in collaboration with local schools.
Beyond education, the Hispanic League strengthens community bonds through cultural celebrations like the annual Fiesta Festival, which draws over 20,000 residents to celebrate diversity and heritage. The organization also provides critical community services including quarterly FaithAction ID Drives, business support through the PyMEs program, and educational sessions on immigration, healthcare, and civil rights. With offices in Winston-Salem, the Hispanic League exemplifies how a dedicated non-profit can create meaningful, lasting change by listening to community needs and responding with culturally responsive, inclusive programming.
