Objectives of the Honorary Consulate of Hungary
- Adhere to the interests and concerns of the local Hungarian community in New England.
- Facilitate political and business collaboration between Hungary and the United States.
- Preserve Hungarian customs and culture amongst Hungarians in New England.
- Introduce Hungarian culture and history to American audiences
- Strengthen the Hungarian community with the implementation of regular cultural gatherings, film screenings and diplomat hosting
The Honorary Consulate provides the following services:
- Consular authentication, consular certificates: signature notarization, authentication of legal documents and apostil.
- Passport administration and information. Due to new EU regulations to renew and apply for Hungarian passports is only possible at the Consulate General of Hungary in New York.
- Hungarian citizenship administration and information.
- Information on visas to Hungary and immigration. In case you are a resident of any state in New England visa applications can only be submitted to the Consulate General of Hungary in New York. Visas are also only issued here.
- General information on official administration in Hungary.
- Meet and assist with nationals on matters affecting their social well-being. Provide advice and recommend appropriate legal representation for nationals who contact the consulate.
