About Houston Association of Women Attorneys
Founded in 1976, the Houston Association of Women Attorneys (AWA) is a non-profit 501(c)(6) organization composed of attorneys, judges, and law students who are interested in promoting women and the interests of women in Houston’s legal community. The members of the AWA host CLE and networking events, perform judicial candidate screening and provide judicial recommendations, and create programming for Houston law students.
The Association of Women Attorneys is organized is to promote the common business interests of women in the legal profession. In particular, the AWA strives to improve opportunities for and to promote the recognition of women attorneys.
