Hungarian American Club of S.W. Florida
About Hungarian American Club of S.W. Florida
The purpose of our club is to preserve and promote Hungarian culture through the presentation and enjoyment of Hungarian art, music, dance, literature, history, language, and cuisine. We do this by providing meeting places and events at various venues throughout the year. Whether it be a dinner-dance at one of the many country clubs in the area, a fundraiser for a needy cause in Hungary or Transylvania, a religious service and luncheon at a local church, a historical presentation at the main library, or a picnic at a local park, we try to provide at least 5 or 6 events each '"season" (November thru May).
The Hungarian American Club of S.W. Florida was started in November of 2000. By the end of 2001 we had 58 members. Our membership this year is close to 250 people. Our organisation is governed by a board of directors that is nominated and elected by the membership at the beginning of each calendar year. The board consists of a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and directors.
