About India Association of New Hampshire

The India Association of New Hampshire (IANH) was founded in 1989 and received Non-Profit tax exempt status in 1991. The association currently has membership of three hundred and fifty families from NH and Northern Massachusetts. Association membership is open to all. It provides the members and their families an opportunity to meet and interact with each other, for their children to become better acquainted and stay connected with their cultural heritage. IANH activities include cultural and social events, educational and service activities. The association also publishes a quarterly newsletter named “Samaj Patra” available to all members.

The association encourages the Indian community to actively participate in public service programs organized to serve the less fortunate. The activities include cooking and serving meals at soup kitchens, Christmas gift donations, and entertaining senior citizens at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home.
Recently, the association has embarked on humanitarian project of empowering Bhutanese refugees so that they can become self reliant. IANH is helping the refugees with winter clothing needs, job training and search, and obtaining driver licenses. Used- car and computer donations are also being sought. IANH is undertaking this endeavor with help from many non-profit organizations and government agencies.

IANH has partnered with North South Foundation, Burr Ridge Ill to conduct Educational contests in Essay Writing, Spelling Bee, Vocabulary Bee, Math Bee, Geography Bee, and Public Speaking Bee for children of our community. Additionally, we conduct workshops to help the children prepare for the contests. The proceeds from these contests help to fund higher education scholarship programs for the economically challenged students in India.

IANH youth group provides opportunities for young members to share and develop skills in planning and managing cultural and educational events.
IANH is an association of the members and for the members. It aims to foster the general well-being of the Indian-American community and promote goodwill between India and the United States of America.

You may contribute to various Public Service activities through active participation and/ or tax deductable cash and material donations.
