Indian Medical Association of Southern California
About Indian Medical Association of Southern California
For over four decades, the Indian Medical Association of Southern California has been a cornerstone of professional and community support for physicians of Indian origin serving the Irvine and Southern California region. What began as an informal gathering of a handful of physicians in the late 1970s has grown into a thriving community of hundreds of members united by shared professional values and cultural heritage. Based in Irvine, CA, IMASC's mission extends far beyond professional networking—the organization is deeply committed to protecting public health, particularly within the Indian community, and advancing the well-being of both patients and physicians. The association's community outreach programs demonstrate this commitment through medical screenings, educational health fairs, and physician volunteering at local health clinics. IMASC also supports senior citizens through education and support services while maintaining partnerships with organizations dedicated to global health and humanitarian causes, including Pratham USA, Ekal Foundation USA, and SAHARA Foundation. The organization has expanded to include innovative physician wellness programs and social and cultural initiatives for retired members, recognizing that supporting physicians holistically strengthens the entire medical community. By standing as the voice of physicians of Indian origin in Southern California, IMASC continues to advocate for its members while fostering connections between medicine, culture, and community service.
