For nearly three decades, Indy Pride, Inc. has been the heartbeat of the LGBTQ+ community in Indianapolis, Indiana, uniting members and allies through meaningful events and programs that celebrate diversity and promote social awareness. Founded in 1995, this entirely volunteer-driven organization operates as a nonpartisan, tax-exempt nonprofit governed by a Board of Directors elected by its membership. Indy Pride's mission centers on creating inclusive spaces where the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community of Central Indiana can connect, grow, and thrive together. The organization demonstrates its commitment to accessibility by welcoming all people, regardless of background, identity, or circumstance. Beyond hosting the annual Indy Pride Fest—which has become Central Indiana's premier pride celebration—Indy Pride supports the community through scholarships, grants to local LGBTQ+ organizations, and cultural programs like the Indianapolis LGBT Film Festival. The Chris Gonzalez Library & Archives preserves the region's LGBTQ+ history, while recreational leagues foster camaraderie among Indianapolis, IN residents. Through leadership development initiatives and educational programming, Indy Pride continues building a stronger, more connected Central Indiana where every member of the LGBTQ+ community feels valued and empowered.
