About Iranian Alliances Across Borders
Iranian Alliances Across Borders (IAAB) serves the New York, NY community as a pioneering nonprofit organization rooted in the lived experiences of first and second generation Iranian-Americans. Founded in 2003 by university students who understood the unique challenges of diaspora identity, IAAB has grown into a vital resource for empowering youth and strengthening cultural connections across borders.
At its heart, IAAB is about belonging and voice. The organization recognizes that members of the Iranian diaspora have both the right and the responsibility to shape society while honoring their heritage. Through community-centered programming and educational initiatives, IAAB creates spaces where young people can assert their presence, claim their stake in American society, and contribute meaningfully without apology for their Iranian or American identity.
As a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan organization, IAAB operates with a philosophy that transcends traditional boundaries. The organization facilitates deep conversations about what it means to belong to multiple communities simultaneously, helping individuals navigate the complexities of diaspora life with confidence and purpose. By bringing together diverse voices and perspectives, IAAB builds solidarity and collaboration among community members, fostering a new generation of engaged leaders who understand their cultural roots while actively participating in their adopted home. For those seeking community, mentorship, and a space to explore their identity, IAAB represents a commitment to growth, connection, and collective empowerment.
