Italian American Lawyers of Orange County
About Italian American Lawyers of Orange County
Since its founding in 1979, the Italian American Lawyers of Orange County has served as a vital cultural and professional hub for the Newport Beach, CA community and throughout Orange County. Known by its Latin name Lex Romana (Roman Law), this 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization celebrates the profound legal, cultural, and social contributions of Italian Americans to society and the legal profession. The organization's mission centers on three core pillars: celebrating Italian culture and heritage, providing continuing legal education to members of the Orange County legal community, and creating opportunities for meaningful networking and friendship among lawyers, non-lawyers, and anyone who shares a passion for Italian traditions, fine food, and wine. What sets the Italian American Lawyers of Orange County apart is its belief that professional development and cultural celebration should go hand-in-hand. Members gather monthly at rotating Italian restaurants, where conversations flow as freely as wine, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of authentic Italian family gatherings. The organization welcomes everyone with open arms—regardless of Italian heritage or legal background—recognizing that everyone has the capacity to appreciate Italian culture. Annual highlights include installation dinners, bocce tournaments, wine tastings, cooking classes, special holiday celebrations, and collaborative events with other professional organizations. Founded by Joseph D'Antony and fellow visionary lawyers, the organization has grown into a thriving community where legal professionals find not just continuing education, but genuine friendship, cultural enrichment, and a sense of belonging within the Newport Beach and Orange County legal landscape.
