About Japanese Mutual Aid Society of Chicago
The mission of the Japanese Mutual Aid Society of Chicago shall be to manage JMAS property at Montrose Cemetery, sponsor an annual Memorial Day Service, and to engage in community service activities in our Japanese American community and the broader Chicago community.
The purpose of the society was to be three-fold:
1. Purchase centrally located cemetery lots.
2. Help pay for final expenses of all who died without family or funds.
3. Provide necessary social services to the Japanese community in Chicago.
