Julia Mezhinsky Jayne is the founder of Jayne Law Group, P.C., a Bay Area law firm focusing on white collar and general criminal defense. Ms. Jayne represents individuals and small businesses at all stages of a criminal proceeding, in federal and state actions, grand jury investigations, and administrative hearings. She has over twenty years’ experience as a trial lawyer, in cases ranging from wire fraud and trade secrets to drug offenses and violent crimes. Before founding Jayne Law Group, she was a state prosecutor. She also worked for several years as a white collar defense attorney at a premier San Francisco firm, Sideman & Bancroft. Since 2003, she has served as an adjunct professor of Trial Advocacy at U.C. Hastings College of the Law.
Ms. Jayne is a member of several distinguished panels and organizations in the federal bar, including the Criminal Justice Act Panel ("CJA Panel") for the Northern District of California, the Women’s White Collar Defense Association, and several committees of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Ms. Jayne received her J.D. from Hastings and her undergraduate degree in Communication Studies from UCLA.
She is fluent in Russian.
