Community Connections

Kappa Foundation of West Palm Beach Florida

https://www.wpbkappas.com/foundation P.O. Box 126

Community service is in the DNA of the West Palm Beach Alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. As a result, more than a decade ago, the Chapter’s members looked to a better way to have more of an impact on West Palm Beach and its surrounding communities through educational scholarships, donations of back-to-school supplies, feeding migrant families at Thanksgiving and more. The Kappa Foundation of Palm Beach County, Inc. (“The Foundation”) was created to be the registered 501(c)3 non-profit fundraising arm of the West Palm Beach Alumni Chapter. The national fraternity, through hundreds of undergraduate and alumni chapters in the U.S. and abroad, encourages its members to aspire to service in the public interest. Consistent with this, the West Palm Beach Alumni Chapter has a rich history of community service in Palm Beach County dating back to 1954. Its members -- comprised of physicians, lawyers, journalists, educators, businessmen, clergymen and others – are charged with giving selflessly to bettering the lives of local residents through both financial and “sweat” equity. For example, through the Foundation, our members engage in various charitable activities including providing grants, gifts and contributions to qualified groups and individuals. Recognizing the importance of investing in tomorrow’s leaders, the Foundation proudly provides financial scholarships to deserving students in their pursuit of higher education. The Foundation also supports mentorship programs for at-risk youth and community outreach initiatives. To continue this high level of community service, the Foundation currently relies on fundraising events such as the Annual Kappa Foundation of Palm Beach County One Romantic Evening Gala. However, the Foundation board of directors continues to aggressively explore other sources, such as community-based grants, to further its work to improve the lives of local residents.
