About Korean-American Association of Rhode Island
Founded in 1975 by pioneering Korean immigrants, the Korean-American Association of Rhode Island (KAARI) has grown into a cornerstone organization for Korean-American life in Cranston, RI and throughout the state. What began as a small group of dedicated individuals committed to maintaining cultural ties has evolved into a thriving 501(c)(3) non-profit that serves first and second-generation Korean Americans, Korean adoptees, professionals, business owners, and international students. KAARI's heart lies in its dual commitment: promoting genuine friendship and welfare among its members while simultaneously educating the broader Rhode Island community about the rich depths of Korean history, arts, culture, and heritage.
At its core, KAARI recognizes that cultural preservation and community connection go hand in hand. The organization actively reaches beyond its membership to build bridges with other ethnic associations, creating opportunities for cross-cultural dialogue and the sharing of resources that strengthen entire communities.
