About Korean Community Development Services Center
Founded in 1984 by Dr. Jin Yu and Mr. Moo Yoo, the Korean Community Development Services Center has been a cornerstone of support for the Olney neighborhood in north Philadelphia for over four decades. What began as an organization dedicated to helping newly-arrived Asian immigrants adjust to life in their new country has evolved into a comprehensive service provider addressing the needs of tens of thousands of low-income clients from many different backgrounds. The organization's mission centers on empowering individuals and families by providing essential resources that enable personal growth and foster community development. Operating from their locations in Philadelphia, PA, the center serves as a beacon of compassion and commitment, understanding that time is precious for low-income families and that navigating multiple support services can be overwhelming and resource-intensive. Their vision reflects a deep commitment to inclusivity and diversity, aspiring to create a thriving Olney community where every resident has access to safe housing, quality education, and the resources needed to succeed. The Korean Community Development Services Center's values of compassion, integrity, inclusivity, and collaboration guide their work with each client. By providing individualized assistance across educational, housing, and community needs under one roof, they have become instrumental in building a more resilient and supportive community in Philadelphia.
