Latino Network
About Latino Network
Since 1996, Latino Network has been a cornerstone of Portland, Oregon's Latino community, founded by visionary leaders who recognized the critical need for culturally-grounded resources and services. Rooted in the principle of community self-determination, the organization believes that Latino families and youth thrive when they have meaningful voice in decisions affecting their lives and futures. What distinguishes Latino Network is its unwavering commitment to five core values: Education as the foundation for advancement, Self-Determination through empowerment and active engagement, Social Justice as a catalyst for equity, Accountability to excellence and results, and Culture as connection to rich histories, languages, and diversity. Operating across Multnomah County, Latino Network has evolved into a comprehensive organization addressing the interconnected challenges facing Latino communities—from low academic achievement and youth violence to economic instability. The organization's approach is distinctly relational and multi-generational, building partnerships across cultures, sectors, and age groups to create lasting change. Their vision of thriving, engaged, and influential Latino communities is reflected in ambitious initiatives like La Plaza Esperanza, a forthcoming community facility designed to provide culturally-specific programming for all ages. By combining prevention strategies with direct services, advocacy with community celebration, and individual support with systemic change, Latino Network embodies a holistic understanding of what it takes to strengthen families and build community power in Portland.
